Open to architecture engagements

I like figuring out how to make things run themselves.

I'm Matt Fitzgerald — ML and enterprise efficiency architect and author of four books, including Live Life Automated, Geeking Out, Your Idea Workbook, and My Password Helper. I've spent the past decade building systems that handle the repetitive stuff: ML classifiers, NLP pipelines, orchestrated workflows, and the infrastructure glue that holds it all together.

Before going independent, I was DevOps Engineering Manager at Entara — where a ticket triage classifier I built won the Phoenix Award in 2024 — and before that at Abacus Group, where I worked on automating a lot of the manual overhead across a team managing 35,000 end users. I write about the things I build and the lessons that took a while to learn.
